Corbridge
(location - 12ml west of Newcastle Upon Tyne on A69)
Corbridge is a very quite, small quiet town dating as far back as 80AD.
The original Roman town ruins can be found on the west end of the town
approx 2mile from its center.
Local legend recalls a man named Cor who had two brothers living in
villages 10 miles apart. The brothers only had one hammer between all
three, so when one brother needed the hammer he would whistle and the
brother with the hammer would throw it between villages.
In the mid 17th century, there was a great flood that unearthed a giant
skeleton, approx 21feet in length, the skull of this giant could hold
3gallons and had teeth approx 4inches long and 1inch wide, the locals
believe this was Cor!
